The Instruction
Our client was undertaking alterations to a mid-terraced residential property on St Stephen’s Terrace, Stockwell.
Stokemont were instructed to provide Party Wall surveying services in connection with the proposed works, including the service of Party Wall Notices, preparation of a Schedule of Condition and agreement of a Party Wall Award.
The works included the installation of structural steelwork and alterations to the internal layout, requiring the Party Wall implications to be considered before construction commenced.
The Property
The property was an established mid-terraced residential house dating from the early twentieth century.
The proposed alterations involved works to the existing structure and internal arrangement, including works affecting the Party Wall. The close relationship between the adjoining properties made it important that the relevant Party Wall procedures were properly addressed.

A pre-works Schedule of Condition was also prepared to establish an objective record of the adjoining property’s condition before construction commenced.
