What is Party Wall Noticityâ„¢?

Party Wall Noticity is our Free Party Wall Notice Creator and is based around the ethos that creating a Party Wall Notice couldn’t of been done with more Simplicity… That really is Noticity!

We’ve designed Noticity so that building owners can create and serve simply worded, legally valid Party Wall Notices without the input of a Party Wall Surveyor.

Party Wall Notices aren’t always served by Party Wall Surveyors and from a legal standpoint, don’t need to be!

With this in mind, we understand that many building owners like to serve their own Party Wall Notices, as they not only benefit from cost savings, but in many cases are able to take a much more neighbourly approach to the Party Wall Notice’s service.

We can confirm that the Party Wall Notice you’ve received hasn’t been prepared or reviewed by our Party Wall Surveyors.

What are Your Party Wall Notice Response Options:

1. Consent to the Works

Consenting to the Party Wall Notice means that you don’t require any of the Party Wall Surveying procedures to be implemented. Your neighbour, the building owner, will then be free to commence their proposed construction works without any further formality being followed.

2. Dissent and appoint a Party Wall Surveyor

Dissenting to the Party Wall Notice will mean that you appoint a Party Wall Surveyor to represent your interests. The Party Wall Surveyor will look at the construction works from the perspective of your property ensuring the risk is as low as it can be. The building owner would also need to appoint a Surveyor on their behalf. The outcome of the process will be the agreement of a Party Wall Award which gives you legal protection above and beyond common law. You’re free to appoint any Party Wall Surveyor of your choosing, however we very much hope you select one of ours.

3. Dissent and appoint an Agreed Party Wall Surveyor

This is the same as response option two, the only difference being that one Party Wall Surveyor acts jointly and impartially on behalf of both yourself and the building owner.

Who Pays for the Party Wall Surveyor’s Costs?

Irrespective of your Party Wall Notice response, the building owner will be responsible for any costs, expense or fees associated with the Party Wall Surveying Procedures and the administration of the Party Wall Act 1996.
