Planning on undertaking a Loft Conversion via the Party Wall etc Act 1996? Have you given much thought to solar panels?

Photovoltaic PV panels, or more commonly referred to as solar panels, use the suns natural energy to create electricity. But that’s not all, in doing this there are no mechanical parts, no industrial noises and perhaps most importantly, no emissions.

PV panels are a highly effective energy solution when arranged in a photovoltaic array. This is the process of having numerous panels lined up in a grid sequence, this practice ensures that there is the maximum conversion rate, and essentially means the maximum energy output.

PV panels are by no means a new innovation within the sustainable energy portfolio, however reductions in manufacturing costs, means that they are now a far more affordable option. Where they were once reserved for large commercial style builds, they are now accessible to homeowners and can be installed to suit all roof types!

In the UK alone, currently over 20,000 homeowners benefit from solar energy, not only cutting their bills, but helping reduce the UK’s carbon footprint.

Within the spectrum of sustainable energy producing products, solar panels sit at the higher end being a few thousand to install, however they are a relatively maintenance free product and also produce some of the highest monthly savings as well as the most useable energy.

It should also be said that the energy they produce is not novelty “green light bulb” energy, it is energy that can be used within the home effectively to power all sorts of electrical products.

So what about the savings? Solar panels, come with a per year energy saving cost of circa £160, a good saving by any account!
