We are Still here!

In these challenging times, we would like to take this opportunity to reassure our current and future clients that the team at Stokemont are still here and can be contacted in the normal way.

Following Government guidance, the offices are now open! We are pleased to be back to work and have implemented communication systems to ensure that there is no interruption to our service offerings or our clients’ needs.

How We Continue to Operate

Although the current climate is far from normal, we are still approaching each and every job we’re handling in the normal manner, albeit with some added protection steps in place!

How We Are Inspecting Properties?

Prior to inspecting any property, the Surveyor will inform his superior of his or her health condition. This includes confirming in writing if he or she is suffering from any change in taste, an ongoing cough or a temperature.

During the inspection itself, the Surveyor will attend site with PPE on, including one use only face mask, gloves and shoe coverings that will be put on at the entrance to the property.

The Surveyor will not touch anything during their inspection, outside of any absolute requirement to do so.

We would also ask that while the Surveyor is inspecting the property, he or she remains the only person in the specific room at that time.

We would also request that as many windows as possible are left open during the Surveyor’s inspection to allow for sufficient air circulation.

Finally, social distancing will be adhered to at all times during the inspection.

Are People Still doing work that requires Surveying Services?

Yes, we’ve seen a steady level of enquires that require Surveying input over the past 12 months.

With the government’s temporary reduction in SDLT we are seeing an increased number of property buyers who require pre-purchase RICS HomeBuyer surveys.

Furthermore, with the majority of us working from home we are seeing a steady demand for Party Wall Surveying as owners undertake construction work to make the best use of their home and space.

Finally, we are seeing a steady demand for Defect Analysis Reports as more and more home owners are starting to notice issues to their property that they may have overlooked in the past.

Throughout the lockdown period, we are still working harder than ever for our clients in an effort to make their Surveying requirements as simple and easy to manage as possible.
